Learn more about the Study Abroad program in Amman, Jordan through Notre Dame International.

The city of Amman provides a safe environment for exploration and study. Amman, the capital of Jordan with at least 5,000 years of history, is a fascinating city of contrasts—a unique blend of old and new, situated on a hilly area between the desert and the fertile Jordan Valley.

Students can choose from a semester or year-long program designed for students interested in following one of three tracks: Arabic language, Arabic language and culture, or diplomacy and policy studies. Enrollment in certain courses may require a higher level of proficiency in Arabic than others.

Students can live with a Jordanian host family or in an apartment with other CIEE students. There are volunteer options available to engage with the community, from helping others with English to volunteering at a women’s rights organization. Academic year students can participate in an internship with a non-governmental organization.
