Erin Hayes is graduating with majors in Political Science and Arabic and a certificate in International Security Studies. Her interest in Arabic led her to spend a summer in Oman and a semester in Morocco studying the language. She also traveled to Belfast, Northern Ireland while at Notre Dame to conduct research for her senior thesis titled, "A Stake in the Future: U.S. Foreign Policy Toward Nationalist Parties in Northern Ireland and Palestine.” Erin is looking forward to continuing her study of Arabic in Egypt next year, when she will work at the American University in Cairo through the Presidential Internship Program. In the future, Erin aspires to be a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State.
