Leanne Van Allen

Leanne is a Program of Liberal Studies and International Economics—Arabic double major from Orlando, Florida. During her time at Notre Dame she has been heavily involved in the Women's Liturgical Choir as both a member and an officer. She has also tutored for the Economics department and Arabic for the Center for the Study of Languages and Cultures. Through her dorm, McGlinn Hall, she volunteered with elementary school students at St. Adalbert's School in South Bend. This past year she has been hard at work writing her senior thesis on the prohibition against charging interest in Islam. She thoroughly enjoyed learning about this fascinating topic and found it to be the perfect way to cap off her undergraduate education. Leanne is a member of both Omicron Delta Epsilon, the economics honor society, and Phi Beta Kappa, the liberal arts honor society. In the fall she will begin pursuing her JD degree at Harvard Law School.
