"Being an Arabic major has led me to learn a rich language, giving me the opportunity to encounter new people and ideas about the world in places I never would have expected to find myself," said Molly Herber '13, now a writer for the National Outdoor Leadership School in Wyoming. "I enjoy the challenge of the language and the rewards of being able to read books and the newspaper and understand conversations on the street. Through the opportunities provided by the Arabic program, I have met professors who challenged me to evaluate my place in the world and then put those ideas into practice through study abroad opportunities. These resources have enriched my education by bringing it outside of the classroom, letting me explore the world for myself."
