The primary objective of this course is to develop a working knowledge of Classical/Koranic Arabic, with emphasis on an overview of grammar and syntax, vocabulary acquisition, and sample readings of Islamic texts. We will learn how to use the Arabic dictionary and parse sentences at an introductory level. Students are encouraged to have previewed the alphabet before classes commence.
