Conversational Arabic class

The goal of the class is to provide students with a formal forum to practice advanced conversational Arabic via the assignment through presentations and spontaneous interlocution. Instruction is designed to promote the development of speaking and listening skills for authentic application within personal and professional settings. The focus will be on refined development of vocabulary and morphology in a context that emphasizes advanced syntactical structures.

Course objectives are as follows:

A.  Converse in Arabic using practical vocabulary and advanced syntax to communicate.

B.  Demonstrate comprehension of practical sentences and questions in Arabic.

C.  Communicate orally using clear diction, pronunciation, and suitable intonation.

Prerequisites:  Intermediate Arabic. Students should be enrolled or have completed 20003 or have commensurate knowledge thereof. Students will rehearse topics in advance, but spontaneity is encouraged.
